Heute drehen sich die sieben Fragen von Cult7 um Musik. Dabei dreht sich die Musik selbst ja heute immer weniger und wird immer weniger genossen, aber das hatten wir ja schon. Und auch wenn ich eigentlich keine Zeit habe (siehe unten…), gewisse Traditionen gilt es zu pflegen…
Musik bestimmt unser aller Leben. Ob wir wollen oder nicht. Und heute bestimmt es die Sieben Fragen:
- Was ist Dir lieber: VIVA oder MTV?
Weder noch. Musik im Fernsehen ist ja nun so überhaupt nichts für mich. Ich glaube, ich habe in meinem ganzen Leben zusammengenommen noch keine 2 Stunden Viva oder MTV gesehen. Musik im Fernsehen gab´s höchstens damals, als es am späten Sonnabend abend noch den Rockpalast in der ARD gab… - Was ist der erste Song an den Du Dich erinnern kannst?
“Let It Be” von den Beatles. Die Legende berichtet, dass der kleine Junge wirre Lautbildungen zu der mit etwas gutem Willen als “Let It Be” erkennbaren Melodie vor sich hinträllerte, wenn er in der Sandkiste saß… - Dürftest Du einen Sänger aus der Musik-Geschichte streichen, wer wäre das?
Wo soll ich denn da anfangen? Hmmm… doch – einen ganz sicher, obwohl man den eigentlich noch nicht einmal als “Sänger” bezeichnen dürfte: David Hasselhoff. Eine Begründung sollte hier nicht wirklich nötig sein, oder? - Welches ist das nervigste Lied der Musik-Geschichte?
Wie oben: Begründung überflüssig, schnelle Antwort: “Life Is Life” von Opus. - Welche Platte in Deiner Sammlung ist Dir richtig peinlich?
Keine einzige. Ich stehe zu allen Platten (!!!) und allen CDs, die ich im Vollbesitz meiner geistigen Kräfte jemand erstanden habe. - Welcher Song bedeutet Dir am meisten?
Auf einen beschränken? Das geht gar nicht. Das sind ein paar, und die sind alle auf eine CD gebrannt, die ich höre, wenn ich in bestimmte Situationen oder Stimmungen gerate. Und alle zusammen machen, dass es mir wieder gut geht.
Beispiele: Auch wenn sich Herr Shhhh jetzt wahrscheinlich wieder leidend windet: “Life In A Northern Town” von der Dream Academy. Ich kann nicht einmal beschreiben warum, aber er macht mir gute Laune. “I´ll Sail This Ship Alone” von Beautiful South, weil er mir über das Ende einer Beziehung hinweggeholfen hat. “Romeo And Juliet” von den Dire Straits, weil er einfach so gut passte. “Why Worry” von eben jenen, weil er mir Mut macht. “I Don´t Like Mondays” von den Boomtown Rats, weil ich mit meiner Interpretation dieses Songs während meiner äußerst kurzen Musikerkarriere 500 Biker gerührt habe. “Tubular Bells” von Mike Oldfield, weil ich total darin versinken kann und mir die schönsten Bilder und Ideen dabei kommen. (Okay, okay, ich hör´ ja schon auf.) - Der Soundtrack welches Films passt am Besten zu Deinem Leben?
“The World According To Garp”. Nicht unbedingt nur wegen des Soundtracks, auch wegen des Films selbst, treffend subsummiert in dem User-Kommentar: “Unorthodox view of life from a very strange fellow.”

I can’t drive (I flunked 4 road tests) and have a bunch of chronic medical conditions. My husband works out of town so living near both DFW and Love Field is quite convenient. Living in a suburb of Dallas helps with all of these factors. If I drove and was younger and healthier and my husband teeotlmmuced I might consider living in a small town in NE TX.

Many modern commercials are incomprehensible. They just throw special effects, swishy cartoon acting and quick cuts at the camera, annoying you and leaving you wondering what you are supposed to buy and why.This is what I think when I watch a wacky old cartoon. Not that I think they suck, but I think they would be funnier if so much wasn’t going on at once. But speaking of crap commercials, how about that Charmin one with the red and blue bear in a race. What an abomination, as if I wouldn’t notice that the good 2D stuff was replaced with a cheap soulless 3D shell of it’s former self.
